This policy explains which personal data we collect when you visit our website, place an order or contact us, why we do so, and which rights you have.

3. Why we use it, and on which legal basis

  • To process payments and prevent fraud (performance of a contract; legitimate interest)
  • To meet legal and tax obligations (legal obligation)
  • To send you our newsletter if you have signed up (consent)
  • To analyse and improve our website and advertising if you have accepted those cookies (consent)

4. Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers acting on our behalf: our e-commerce platform (Shopify), payment processors, fulfilment and logistics partners, email and IT providers, and, if you have accepted marketing cookies, advertising platforms such as Meta and Google. We also share data with authorities where the law requires it. We never sell your personal data.

5. Shopify

Our shop runs on Shopify, which processes personal data about your use of the website on our behalf. More information is in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy.

6. International transfers

Some recipients are located outside the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. Such transfers are based on an adequacy decision or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or their UK equivalent. A copy is available on request.

7. How long we keep it

Order and invoice data are kept for 7 years to meet tax obligations. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Other data is kept no longer than necessary for its purpose.

8. Security

We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, such as encrypted connections and limited access. No method is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information by email.

9. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete and port your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter with the link in every email, and change your cookie choice via "Cookie preferences" at the bottom of every page. Send other requests to info@nordic-maison.com; we respond within one month.

10. Children

Our shop is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect data about them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Cookies

Which cookies we use, what they do and how you can change your choice is set out in our Cookie policy.

12. Supervisory authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the United Kingdom, the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the supervisory authority in your country.
